I have been taking Japanese lessons from Nami Ohara for 5 years, and each lesson is enjoyable and interesting. The learning environment is excellent, as she takes every conversation as an opportunity to teach Japanese. She also doesn’t just teach the language, she also teaches about the culture of Japan, which is very useful for someone like me who wants to move there someday. She cares a lot about her students, and tailors her lessons to the learner. She uses little monikers and phrases that have really helped me memorize vocabulary that I otherwise would have found daunting to learn. Nami is an excellent Japanese teacher that I would enthusiastically recommend to anyone looking to learn the language. |
I've been studying Japanese for five years, but all the time I've invested has given me a much stronger grasp of reading, writing, speaking and understanding of the Japanese language as a whole than when I first began. More than that, I'm thankful to have a dedicated teacher to help me through all of it, and to teach me more than just the language; I've learned a great deal about Japanese history, etiquette, and culture in the process. I look forward to learning even more in the next five years from now. |
"Learning Japanese has always been a goal of mine, and being from a small province, I did not think there was an opportunity to learn from a teacher via private lessons. I’m so thrilled that I was able to connect with Name-san and begin learning from her! She takes the time to get to know you as a student and will cater your lessons for exactly what you need. Japanese can feel complex, but Nami-San is so patient and helpful and explains things so clearly. Her passion, energy and devotion are inspiring to me and it makes me want to be a more dedicated student and commit my time and effort to learn this beautiful language. I love how she challenges me to be better with my speaking abilities and always believes I can do my best!
Her private lessons, along with the free extra practice you can receive from her youtube channel, have made me more confident in my understanding of Japanese. Knowing that I can practice throughout the week via youtube makes me feel more prepared for my weekly lessons, and it is a fun and interactive way to further your learning. This is just another example of how dedicated Nami-san is to going above and beyond for her students! If you want to learn Japanese, taking lessons with Ohara Consulting is the best way to start! なみさん、ありがとうございます!" |
Hi, I have been studying Japanese for about 6 months now and enjoying it thoroughly. Even though I've only started a short time ago, my Japanese language skills have improved vastly. I try to study at least one hour a day if I can, though I sometimes end up studying much longer because I enjoy learning the language so much. I one day hope to go to Japan, and with Nami-sensei's excellent teaching, when that day comes, I'm sure I will be more than prepared. |

I starting learning Japanese with Nami in my last year of high school and will be taking online lessons with Nami while in university. Nami's lessons are always fun but full of knowledge of the Japanese language and the Japanese culture. I'm very shy when learning new languages but Nami helped me to not be afraid to speak Japanese and taught me that it's okay to make mistakes! When I was writing exams, Nami fully understood my focus on my studies and is always mindful to tailor my schedule to fit me. I will be continuing my Japanese studies with her and hopefully visit Japan itself sometime with not too much confusion, all thanks to Nami! |
When I found out that I was accepted into the JET Programme, I knew that I wanted to improve my Japanese before I moved to Japan. My lessons with Nami were so helpful and so much fun! Not only did I learn about the language, but I really enjoyed how Nami incorporated teaching parts of the Japanese culture in my lessons, too. Nami tailored my lessons for me, making it a very comfortable and enjoyable way to learn Japanese! |
I have been learning Japanese for a little over 5 years, but it`s so hard to believe because it feels like my learning has only just begun. I really enjoy learning about the interesting language and culture of the Japanese. It intrigues me, and the more I learn, the further I want to dig deeper into it and know everything I can. Nami is a wonderful teacher, and she has taught me many things of which I hold near and dear to me. I hope to learn much more from her and have many more of these little things to cherish. I may not be able to learn everything about Japan, but I can promise to continue learning everything I can and do my very best to honour my sensei and keep all of her teachings close to my heart. Thank you, Nami! |
